Straight SEO Blog Kickoff

This is the first post on the Straight SEO Blog. My goal is to post weekly on SEO and what I find that works / doesn't work.

SEO is a changing industry. If you were good at SEO ten years ago, there's a great chance you're not delivering quality results today. It's my sincere belief that Google wants to make SEO a dead industry. That calling yourself an SEO will get you laughed off the face of the Earth.

I think Google wants to remove the "gaming" aspect of SEO and let quality content dictate rankings in search. Today there's more ability to measure user interactions than ever before. So it makes sense that non-content factors will be determining factors in ranking. Things like "does a user fill out a contact form on the site within 30 days of clicking an article" - not just bounce rate.
